Statement of Purpose
This library is meant for the benefit of homeschoolers who desire to train their children in the fear of the LORD. The materials chosen for the library will favour excellent homechooling resources that would not usually be found in the local library or in a cast-off bin. The materials chosen are to encourage the parents and feed their children with high quality resources that will expand their knowledge and love of God and His creation. Development Plans Features planned for the library and website: • View resources in library • Read reviews of resources • Discuss resources • Request a resource • Hold a resource • Offer a resource • Community resources • Links to internet resources • List of upcoming events • Library announcements • Comment or question the librarian We hope that the library is a blessing to you and your family. Please read through the list of resources and reviews of them. We would love to hear your review of the materials in the discussion section. If you would like to request a particular item, please contact the librarian. If you are able to offer materials for the library, either permanently or on loan, please contact the librarian. You will be a blessing to many families if you are able to do this. You may also put a book on hold if you are not able to attend a monthly meeting. Take a look at the links to community resources as well as to the links of internet resources. Keep posted on the library announcements for upcoming events at the library. At all times you are more than welcome to contact the librarian with your comments and questions.
We would love your feedback as we develop the library and this website. Location – Parkdale Baptist Church, 474 Parkdale Avenue in Ottawa. Directions – Take the Parkdale exit off the Queensway and turn north onto Parkdale. Turn left at Tyndall. The library is in the church on the corner of Parkdale and Tyndall.
Hours - The library is open before and after RVHEA monthly meetings until further developments. WE NEED YOU!
The Learning at Home Library is in the middle of a wonderful rebuilding. You will be excited to know that the library is located on the same premises where the meetings will be held each month and will be open before and after each meeting and possibly at another time during the month. We would love to share with you all the exciting developments (like website catalogue, links to resources, etc.) but they are so numerous that you are better off coming to the meetings in February and March to hear all the fabulous details.
While we develop plans to make the library better for you and your family, we need you!
Please respond to the following questions so we know what you would like in the library.
1. What would you like to see in a local homeschool library?
2. Do you think that having the resources listed on the RVHEA website would be valuable? Would you appreciate links to good resources?
3. What times and days would you like to have the library available?
4. Would you be willing to loan requested materials for a short period of time?
5. What specific titles would you like to see in the library?
